  The STF is a group of leading school tour operators who promote good practice and safety in school travel. The initiative is welcomed by the Outdoor Education Advisors Panel (OEAP) and the DfES.  It has the support of the SHA, NAHT, ATL, NUT, PAT and the NASUWT advises members wishing to organise school trips to use companies that have this type of scheme.
• We have full ABTA and ATOL bonding in to order to provide full financial protection of any monies paid to the company.
• We have an externally verified and audited Safety Management System, which covers all components of a residential visit. Our SMS was developed with the advice of independent experts in Hotel and Transport safety and rigorous audits of all accommodation and transport suppliers forms the core of our system. Our entire SMS system is subject to regular external inspection by independent Health and Safety experts Overcoat.

We work exclusively with a select list of approvedcoach companies. These companies must supply full details of their coach fleet, operating licence, company affiliations and all necessary vehicle and public liability insurances. A member of SKiCLASS operations then carries out a full inspection of the companies depot, looking at the drivers documents, tachograph system, vehicle maintenance records and of course the coaches themselves.

For Hotels and Apartments the audit process is equally rigorous. Local regulations are taken as a guideline, but all accommodation must pass our audit inspection and meet our stringent standards. Our on site inspection provides us with a full description of the building and looks in depth at fire prevention, warning alarms, fire fighting equipment as well as means of escape. Bedrooms, balconies, lifts and swimming pools are all subject to inspection and the kitchens are a special focus, not only because of fire risks, but also because we take hygiene standards very seriously.

• We provide a generic set of risk assessments looking at the various aspects of your trip. These are intended to supplement the information gathered during the audit inspections.

• We will help arrange a preview visit in order for you to carry out any additional research and reporting that you feel that you may require. If you book a group of 42 full paying we will provide this trip for free!  

• All our reps are interviewed face to face, attend a training and assessment course and are required to apply for enhanced disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau.
• All ski lessons are delivered by British Association of Snowsports Instructors qualified Ski Instructors ( BASI III) or local Instructors with the equivalent national instructor qualification and a good level of English language. We impose certain safety guidelines on all ski schools covering aspects such as the meeting and delivering back of all groups.

Our experienced Operations Team are on call 24 hours a day whilst you are in resort. We have a formalised emergency procedures plan in order that we react efficiently and effectively in the unlikely event of a serious emergency.
